QuikVue Vet Case Share - corneal dystrophy

We are glad to share a vet case study captured by QuikVue eye imaging adaptor from Dr. Allison Fuchs.

Have you seen an eye like this before?

This is a form of corneal dystrophy, a non-inflammatory corneal opacity that generally results from deposition of lipid in the corneal layers. This condition can be inherited, but can also be impacted by a high fat diet or hypothyroidism. It is progressive, but non-painful.

This is a more dramatic example of the condition and interestingly, is in only one eye! We are going to try some diet modification, are waiting on thyroid testing, and also treating the patient's concurrent dry eye.
